From time to time, patients undergo one or more rhinoplasty surgeries and do not get the results they want. In such cases, we call rhinoplasty surgeries performed to eliminate functional or aesthetic problems in the nose as revision rhinoplasty surgery.
It is more difficult to make the patient happy who did not get the desired result in the first surgery and needs revision surgery compared to the first surgeries, therefore revision surgeries require more meticulous work.
Frequently Asked Questions About Revision Rhinoplasty
How many hours does the surgery take?
Revision rhinoplasty surgeries may take a little longer than rhinoplasty surgeries. It is possible to talk about an average duration of 4-6 hours for revision rhinoplasty surgeries.
Do I need to stay in hospital?
As a precaution after the surgery, we recommend our patients to stay in the hospital for 1 day.
How long should I wait after the first surgery for revision surgery?
The time the patient must wait between two surgeries varies from patient to patient. Our patients may be a little impatient for revision surgery, but in order for the second revision surgery to be successful, it is generally necessary to wait 1 year after the first surgery.
When can I return to my daily life?
You can return to your daily life starting from the 7th day after revision rhinoplasty surgery. We recommend that you spend this time resting.
Will there be bruising or swelling after the surgery?
We use the piezo (ultrasonic) method in our surgeries. With this method, our patients generally do not experience any swelling or bruising. Swelling and bruising, which are rarely seen, resolve rapidly from the 3rd day.
Will there be any scars after the surgery?
In revision surgeries, we usually make a small incision in the old surgery area. After the surgery, this incision heals in a way that is not noticeable unless looked at carefully.
